Keynote and DJ Set - The Installer Show, NEC, Birmingham

This was a first for me. The first time I have delivered a wellbeing keynote and a regular DJ set for a client. I was at the NEC Birmingham to close out day 2 of the Installer Show, speaking and spinning tunes at the Bathroom Manufacturers Association Stage.

Wellbeing Keynote

I delivered my standard wellbeing keynote giving an introduction to wellbeing and mental health, checking-in using the FormScore Methodology and looking at the common drivers of our wellbeing. I then did a deeper dive into stress management, resilience and mitigating against burnout before sharing my favourite concept - wellbeing non-negotiables.

DJ Set

After my keynote, the tech’s installed the decks and sound system and a bar was stocked. I played a mix of Disco-House, Ibiza Classics and 80’s Bangers. I didn’t really know what to expect at a trade show in the NEC but folk were attracted to the music (and the bar) and we got a good few of them dancing. It was a great way to finish the day with positive vibes.

Feedback and Takeaways

I’m increasingly enjoying opportunities to bring music into conferences, exhibitions and workplaces. It works every single time. Why? Because music creates energy and emotion. We all have a personal relationship with music and it is a great way of connecting people and making memories.

Looking Ahead

I’m loving the opportunity of bringing music into unexpected places and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Thank you to Mike Costain of the Installer Show and Amy Kirk of the BMA for having me.

Thank you 🙏🏼 awesome afternoon. Thank you again for the great set!”
